Suzue Corporation (Takahiro Suzue, Representative Director; Head Office in Yokohama, Japan) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in the field of global logistics with Milaha, a major container shipping company in Qatar, on November 2nd, 2020 .
Their holding company being the first listed company in the country, Milaha is located in Doha, the capital city of the State of Qatar. As a total logistics company, their core business include maritime transport, warehouse services and terminal operations. They are also one of the few companies in the Middle East that handles full container ships, break bulk vessels, flat top barges, and tugboats. At Hamad Port they manage operation of the commercial port as a shareholder of QTerminals.
Qatar is one of the largest exporting country of liquefied natural gas (LNG) ranking fourth in world production and Japan is the main trading partner accounting for about 21% of the total volume. Additionally, Qatar is the 14th largest producer of crude oil (petroleum) in the world. The country is attracting worldwide attention as top class with its conspicuously high per capita GDP in the Middle East. Furthermore, large-scale international sporting events are scheduled to be held in Qatar including the FIFA World Cup in November 2022. Remarkable growth is expected in terms of both economy and infrastructure.
By developing global logistics with the network of both companies and by cooperative exchange of information and personnel, we will expand mutual business opportunities going forward.
