Our company's "Odaiba Distribution Center," which began operation in Odaiba District on April 20th, 2015, announced that it has received halal certification from the "Nippon Asia Halal Association."

"Halal" is an Arabic term originating in Islam, meaning "that which is lawful" or "that which is allowed." Halal-processed food products and cosmetics are certified by a certification organization, thus allowing for credibility and granting peace of mind to those of the Islamic faith (Muslims).

With the increasing population and economic growth in Islamic circles, the scope of the halal market appears to have reached ¥300 trillion. There has thus been increased interest concerning this enormous market.

With a global population of approximately 1,600,000,000 Muslims, and approaching the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, in addition to a multitude of foreign tourists and businesspeople, a large number of Muslims are expected to visit Japan. In addition, the numbers of halal products as well as halal certified manufacturers and retailers are expected to increase.

Under these circumstances, our company provides halal product storage services at certified warehouses for food products and cosmetics aimed toward Muslims. At certified warehouses, in order to maintain halal status from a distribution standpoint, strict management is carried out according to standards, including a department of the Odaiba Distribution Center with space reserved for halal products, as well as the deployment of employees who receive specialist training in the handling of halal goods.

We intend to make further efforts to fulfill our responsibilities in the position as Halal certified "designated warehouse".
