Our company has signed a Friendship Alliance Agreement (FAA) with Sun Kwang Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Incheon City, the Republic of Korea), a South Korean terminal operator and general logistics company.

Objective of agreement

This agreement is aimed at the development of international logistics business. It makes full use of the networks of both companies including information exchange as well as personnel exchanges in all the fields including the port transportation business. In addition, we plan to establish a local joint venture in the future.

Sun Kwang Co., Ltd. is a listed company in Korea and is one of the largest terminal operators in Korea. Last year, we opened a state-of-the-art unmanned container terminal (Sun Kwang Newport Container Terminal) at Incheon Port.

Incheon, home of the Port of Incheon seaport, is the third largest city in South Korea and has a population of over 3 million people. Specialized development is underway in the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ), which consists of three main areas: New Songdo City, which is an international hub for cutting-edge knowledge-based service industries, Yeongjong Island, which contains an international airport and is an ideal location for air travel, tourism and leisure industries, and the Cheongna district, an innovative business town which combines business, residential areas and industries. Incheon is predicted to continue to grow as a Northeast Asian hub for business and tourism, with Japanese businesses expected to expand into the area.

Our company's continuing overseas expansion and infrastructure development (base making) efforts will create as important a base as the overseas ones in China, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia, South Africa, Bangladesh, Turkey, Mexico, India, UAE, and the Philippines.
